Media trainer

Victoria was a journalist for the BBC for nearly 10 years

Victoria has designed and delivered bespoke media training courses for both senior leaders and volunteers, pitching them perfectly for the individual needs of each group.

Her background in TV news production and reporting means that she knows how journalists operate, and therefore, how to work best with them.

Victoria is lead tutor of the NCTJ Journalism Diploma at Sutton College, so she has extensive classroom experience. She has an easy rapport with students of all ages, ranks and backgrounds.

Hilary Swift from charity Compassion UK had this to say about Victoria’s training sessions:

“Just wanted to say what a fantastic job Tory did at our Compassion Graduate Training Weekend. Her presentation was excellent – efficient, informative, focused and great fun! Perfectly tailored for our Graduates, who all benefited from and enjoyed it in equal measure.

Tory is so knowledgeable and experienced and was able to pass on many valuable points with clarity and humour – a rare combination! I know from my experience at the BBC just how tricky some journalists can be and it was so good to prepare our Graduates for various media situations, giving them lots of tips, guidance and confidence to handle these situations. They are now even more well equipped to be able to witness to the power of Compassion’s ministry.”
